About Depew, NY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Depew is a small town with a lot of personality and culture. What it lacks in population and activity it more than makes up for in hometown appeal and a relaxed atmosphere. Seasonal weather means sledding in the winter and swimming in the summer… and kids are always outside doing something. The town shares many amenities with the nearby town of Lancaster, as well, which allows the residents to enjoy such activities and features while living in a more secluded environment.

Outdoor fun is not just reserved for the summertime in this lovely area. The town has an ice skating rink which they operate each winter at the recreation center. The Lancaster Heritage Trail, in nearby Lancaster, is a bike trail that runs for about 4 miles and can be enjoyed in any season. The path passes by the Lancaster Swamps and Lorall Lake, creating lovely scenic views which are always changing with the passing seasons. Como Lake Park contains playgrounds, sledding hills for winter time, woods, bike paths and walking trails, picnic areas, shelters and Cayuga Creek flows through the well-kept county park.

There are a great many historical sites in the area, and in Lancaster, that are great stops with the kids on a rainy or wintry day. The buildings include (just naming a few):

  • Warren Hull House
  • Clark-Lester House,
  • DePew Lodge No. 823
  • Lancaster District School No. 6
  • Bruce-Briggs Brick Block

The rich history of this town begins in 1808 when Appolos Hitchcock settled alongside Cayuga Creek, and served as a liaison and mediator linking the Holland Land Company and the area’s Native Americans - who held him in great esteem and trusted him. He built homes for each of his sons and these were the first white settlers’ homes in the area. Today, Depew is still a great place to live and people still live in Harmony. You won’t find a happier and homier community in all of the state of New York.
