About South Buffalo, NY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

South Buffalo is a large neighborhood that makes up the southern portion of the City of Buffalo. Known for its Irish-American culture, this close-knit community is bordered by West Seneca, Lackawanna, and Lake Erie. South Buffalo is served by many educational institutions, and Trocaire College is found on Seneca Street. Public and charter schools are found within the neighborhood, and youth ice hockey is also a major part of life in South Buffalo. The Cazenovia Chiefs ice hockey program provides afterschool recreation to hundreds of local children each year.

There are plenty of things to see and do when visiting South Buffalo. There are two parks located in in the community, the larger of which is Cazenovia Park, and they offer baseball diamonds, nine-hole golf courses, soccer fields, and playgrounds for younger children. Nightlife is popular in South Buffalo, as the city features many old-school watering holes reminiscent of Buffalo’s ethnic roots, including Swannie House and Ulrich’s Tavern. The Buffalo Irish Center is also extremely popular in the community around St. Patrick’s Day, and it even hosts a “Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day” celebration in September.

South Buffalo residents need to plan accordingly when it comes to their home climate control systems, as weather conditions here can change quickly. The winters are cold and snowy, and there are many days in which thermostat readings stay below the freezing point. While it isn’t the snowiest city in the state, the area does receive an average of 95 inches of snowfall each year. Residents need to prepare at home with a reliable gas or electric furnace to keep interior temperatures comfortable while also preventing pipes from freezing.

Fortunately, the rest of the year is quite pleasant once the winter thaws away into spring. A warm spring season will lead to a hot and humid summer. While average daytime highs in July and August only reach the high-70s, excessive humidity can make it feel even warmer. The right central air conditioner will remove indoor humidity while improving air quality and reducing temperatures. This will help South Buffalo residents to stay cool and comfortable throughout the season.
